A Milestone Celebration for Loreto Centre Crumlin
On October 10th, 2024, World Mental Health Day, we had the joy of celebrating 25 years of Loreto Centre Crumlin — 25 years of care, compassion, and community impact.
It was a day filled with emotion, gratitude, and pride, shared with over 75 guests, friends, and supporters who have been part of our journey throughout the years.
The celebration was marked by the launch of our documentary film, produced by PR Time Agency and Natalia Luncaș Ionel (Mama în .IE), which beautifully captures the essence of Loreto — a place where people come to find peace, balance, and support.
As Manager Anca Lupu expressed:
“For 25 years, Loreto Centre has been more than just a service provider. It has been a sanctuary — a place where people come to find peace, balance, and support.”
And as our Chairperson, Eugene Banks, so powerfully described:
“It’s not written anywhere that thousands of people have passed through here, but what matters is that they left feeling more at peace, more balanced.”
The event also included a gratitude exercise in honour of World Mental Health Day, reflecting our shared mission to nurture healing and connection.

Honouring Our Legacy – The Inauguration of Two Special Rooms
During the celebration, we were honoured to inaugurate two meaningful spaces that now enrich our Centre’s work and spirit:
The Pat Colgan Room
Dedicated to the memory of Pat Colgan, Loreto Centre’s first Director of Counselling (2008–2019).
Pat’s warmth, wisdom, and compassion shaped our counselling services and touched countless lives.
We were privileged to have Pat’s family present at the inauguration, with the ribbon cut by his wife, Margaret Colgan.
This room stands as a tribute to Pat’s enduring legacy — a reminder that healing begins with empathy and heart.
The Phoenix Room
Revived and reopened by Sr. Anne O’Dwyer, founder and first manager of Loreto Centre (1998–2008), this space symbolizes renewal and resilience.
Closed for many years, it now rises again to serve the community — a welcoming place for training sessions, therapy, self-care, and healing events.
The Phoenix Room truly represents what Loreto stands for: transformation, growth, and connection.
A New Look for a New Chapter
To mark our 25th anniversary, we also unveiled our new logo, designed to reflect the Centre’s values and mission:
👐 Hands – representing the dedication and support of our team.
🛤 Road – symbolizing the guidance we provide to everyone who walks through our doors.
⭐ Star – shining as a beacon of the inner light our clients rediscover on their journey with us.
Looking Ahead
For a quarter of a century, Loreto Centre Crumlin has supported individuals through counselling, adult education, and community well-being programmes.
As we look to the future, we remain deeply committed to mental health and to breaking the stigma surrounding it — continuing to be “powerfully invisible,” yet ever-present in the lives we touch.
💚 Thank you to everyone who has been part of our story — every volunteer, therapist, partner, and participant who made these 25 years possible.
Here’s to the next chapter of healing, growth, and development.
